Patricia Hill Collins was born in Philadelphia in 1948 and has a bachelor and a PhD from Brandeis University, as well as a master’s degree from Harvard University. The difference between a black and a white female is deliberated upon, as well as the definition of what a real “black woman” is. Written by a black woman, yet documented by many, the history of the black female, specifically in America is explained.
